To be a member of Relais & Chateaux two essential things are necessary: reference food and exceptional hospitality.
Every Relais & Châteaux tables have the same mission: create emotion and allow for unforgettable moments to take place. The choice of products, a steady hand and intelligent flavour combinations all come together to make the culinary art a take on excellence, harmoniously mixing to a lovely overview. When it comes to hotels, Relais & Châteaux claims to bring great value to the word “maison”. A “Maison” represents a warm residence, welcoming, where we feel at home. A “maison” is also a place of roots, history, and a strong relationship with the region. A space of friendliness, where privileged moments with family are lived.
For all of this, Malhadinha Nova exceeds all expectations and is proud with this highlight. An estate where everything is thought of in detail. The Soares family is involved in the project since the beginning, with the first vine being planted in 2001 by the hand of the eldest daughter, Francisca, to whom later generations followed, the children that hand draw the labels of each quality wine produced in this place. A space that is an ode to its region, Alentejo, with 460 hectars of land to behold, organic agriculture, cattle raising in extensive, stud farm and with a tight relationship with arts, crafts and Alentejo’s and Beja’s traditions. As is the case of clay, pottery, bulrush, the products like PDO Alentejo meat or the black pig. With the arrival of 2020, Malhadinha Nova added five new exclusive villas to its portfolio, adding 20 rooms to the existing 10 in the original house.
In the kitchen, all this history is present on the plate, if possible, always using produce from the estate, through the hands of the resident Chef Rodrigo Madeira, responsible for the menu of the Malhadinha Nova Restaurant, with the support of the Consultant Chef Joachim Koerper, the starred german Chef and his wife, Cintia, a very refined Pastry Chef.
