Carnival, one of humanity’s oldest celebrations, was born from the great pagan festivities that marked abundance, the end of winter, and the promise of a new cycle. Over the centuries, this celebration spread across the world, taking on colors, sounds, masks, and rhythms deeply connected to the cultures that embraced it. In Brazil, Carnival has become synonymous with vibrant music, contagious dance, and an energy that stretches from the beaches of Rio de Janeiro to the lively street “blocos.” In Venice, the baroque splendor of golden masks, lagoon palaces, and tales of Casanova has transformed Carnival into an expression of mystery, seduction, and theatricality. In Cape Verde, African rhythms — from semba to morna, from coladeira to kizomba — give shape to a Carnival where cultural expression, ancestry, and the strength of the diaspora create a celebration with a deep and warm soul. It is from this meeting of geographies, histories, and emotions that our proposal is born: a sensory journey through three of the world’s most iconic Carnivals — the tropical exuberance of Brazil, the timeless brilliance of Venice, and the Afro-Atlantic beat of Cape Verde — reinterpreted with the authenticity, creativity, and soul of Herdade da Malhadinha Nova.

The experience begins upon arrival at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, where the spirit of Rio de Janeiro comes to life from the very first moment. At the Taberna, a tropical, vibrant, and aromatic welcome drink greets you, accompanied by small bites inspired by the rich diversity of Brazilian gastronomy.

Tour of the property in our vintage off-road vehicles. Take the opportunity to learn about the organic practices of our viticulture team and enjoy the vast landscapes that the Alentejo has to offer.
Visit to the winery followed by a wine tasting accompanied by our wine tourism team.
Laughter Yoga session – Have fun in the afternoon and recharge your energy with a session of joyful laughter that will inspire you throughout your Carnival experience.
Carnival Dinner at the Restaurant – Carioca rhythms will accompany a dinner inspired by the revelry and fun of Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival, featuring a menu filled with tropical flavors and the full diversity of Brazilian cuisine.
The Venice Carnival, one of the oldest carnival celebrations in the world, famous for its exuberance and the unique pleasures of life, serves as the theme for a special experience that has long inspired some of the finest references in Italian and global culture.
Breakfast
The day begins with the aroma of warm bread, homemade jams, and seasonal fruits — a breakfast that sets the mood for a true journey back to the 18th century.
Focaccia Workshop
Our Kitchen Team will reveal the secrets behind crafting the most famous rustic bread in Italian gastronomy, prepared with Malhadinha’s rosemary, olive oil, and honey.
Lunch
A light meal inspired by Venetian gastronomy, the oldest regional cuisine in Italy, blending flavors and traditions. In an informal and relaxed setting, enjoy iconic dishes such as Sarde in Saor, risotto, and tiramisu.
We invite you to participate in a Mask Decorating Workshop, a unique opportunity to express your creativity and immerse yourself in the artistic tradition of the Venice Carnival.
Venice Dinner
Giacomo Casanova, the most famous of Italian writers, will be the host of a dinner accompanied by the sound of violins, inspired by the glamour and splendor of the Venice Carnival. Our Kitchen Team will present a menu themed “Gold & Light,” one of the greatest symbols of Venetian culture.
Cinema Session – Casanova.
Watch in our Cinema Room the film that immortalizes the life and work of the fascinating Giacomo Casanova (1725–1798), featuring one of the final performances of the legendary actor Heath Ledger.
Cape Verde is world-renowned for the famous São Vicente Carnival, inspired by Brazilian traditions and fused with ancestral Portuguese culture. African rhythms and flavors brighten the Entrudo day at Malhadinha.
Breakfast
The morning begins with a breakfast full of fresh products, Atlantic aromas, and the tranquility of the Malhadinha landscape. Today, the inspiration comes from the São Vicente Carnival, marked by the fusion of Portuguese tradition, African heritage, and Brazilian influence.
Kizomba, which literally means “Party,” along with the subtle rhythms of Morna and the melodies of Semba, will invite you to a lively dance class.
The experience concludes with an Entrudo lunch by the Terges stream, inspired by the most representative dishes of Cape Verdean cuisine, from bolo de cus-cus and the famous Cachupa to bafas, offering a journey through the most exotic flavors.

Cancellation and payment policy:
Confirmation of the program is subject pre-payment of 50% of the program cost. If cancelled up to 15 days in advance, 50% of the total reservation will be charged. If cancelled less than 7 days prior the program or in case of a no show, the total program value will be charged.
