The first edition of Encruzado da Malhadinha – Vinha do Olival 2020 reveals a very seductive and complex nose with floral notes of bergamot and white pulp fruits, discreet and well-integrated barrel. On the mouth the wine is very rich, creamy, but with good freshness resulting in a very elegant and balanced wine with long and persistent finish.
Manual harvest during the first hours of the day into 12 kg boxes. After selection, the grapes were put into pre-fermentation pellicular maceration for 5 days. After that period they were softly pressed. Fermentation and further staging for 10 months in French oak barrels in the presence fine grounds.
The 80 hectares of vines sprout on the gentle slopes of drained schist soil, inserted into the terroir and respecting and integrating into the existing ecosystem and biodiversity.
