On the 450 hectares of the property fully under organic production, where sustainability and ecology are the priorities, we want to share with you these last days of another very challenging year. The year of 2021 brought us a greater awareness of the relevance of Nature in our lives. We begin to give value to the simple things in life and had the opportunity to slow down the rush on our frenetic paces. We now have Time to listen, to pay attention to other people and to ourselves, to value the moments where the fellowship and Sharing are visible.

The Era of the return to Earth has arrived, the return to origins.

03:00 p.m. Arrival at the “Herdade da Malhadinha Nova”. You will be hosted at the reception by the Guest Experience Team and with our Chef goodies. Here, you will already have the opportunity to toast the last days of the year with the Malhadinha's biological wine.
Upon arrival in your room, you will find the Malhadinha's notebook to inspire you and write about your experience these days. Get inspired by the landscape, the calmness and let yourself be carried away by the words, drawings, paintings, illustrations, photographs, imagination is the limit to materialize the memories of moments of joy.

06:00 p.m. Poetry session with Pedro Lamares:

Pedro studied visual arts, acting, attended the jazz school in Porto, is an actor, poetry reader, reciter, teacher, author, trainer, artistic direction of several projects related to poetry, presents since 2015 the literature program at RTP 2 tv channel “Literatura Aqui”.

Let yourself be carried away by the words and poems of actor and writer Pedro Lamares, learn from him how to shape your thoughts and create your own poems.

07:30 p.m. Harp recital with Rebeca Csalog

Lisbon, 1996
She attends the Music School of the National Conservatory, where she chooses the harp as her main instrument, participating in several master classes, courses and harp internships in Portugal and Europe. She debuted as a soloist in October 2012, she is currently attending the 1st year of the Master in Music (Harp) at the "Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa".

08:30 p.m. Dinner inspired by the Alentejo's gastronomic heritage at the Malhadinha's restaurant.

*If you wish, you can leave your notebook with us and continue your writing whenever you return to the Malhadinha. We will have a special place to keep it as it can serve as an inspiration for other guests.

08:30 a.m. – 11:00 am. Wake up along with the morning freshness. Feel the primary aromas and enjoy a breakfast full of fruits, jams and natural juices.

10:30 a.m. All-terrain trip to the Old Vineyards of the Malhadinha, located in the “courelas of Vale Travessos” – by jeep or quad bike, venture along the Alentejo trails and discover the seven-decade old vineyards.

12:30 p.m
. Sharing lunch among the vineyards. Take your picnic basket and enjoy the Chef's appetizers.

03:00 p.m.
In the idyllic atmosphere of the barrel cellar, discover the exhibition “The Alentejo tradition” – Alentejo costumes, habits and knowledge.

Subject and dress code for the last night of the year. Get inspired by the beauty of Alentejo.

May the golden painted fields inspire you to the glamor of a festive moment such as New Year's Eve, we challenge you to use the Alentejo as a reference. The yellow and golden tones of the Alentejo cornfields are the perfect analogy for the golden ones that remind us of this celebration. Traditions such as wearing the Alentejo cape, such an essential accessory, are excellent starting points for dressing up on this night of joy and celebration, paying homage to the Alentejo's nature and culture.

07:00 p.m. Begin the evening in our Taberna, with a mini-concert by the young singer from Alentejo, Buba Espinho, who brings with him the legacy of several generations of traditional Portuguese music.

8h00 p.m. Our Chef's will be inspired by the basics and fundamental techniques of Alentejo cuisine to prepare a sophisticated menu with the flavors of the land.

00h00 a.m. Champagne toast, fireworks and late night music.

07:00 a.m. We start the day and year flying over Malhadinha and the Alentejo plain. Be dazzled by a fantastic balloon flight experience and enjoy a delicious breakfast at the landing site. The Chef's goodies will be “the icing on the cake”. [Optional]

08:00 a.m. The Chef did not forget about the early risers and left some treats that will give you a dose of energy for the morning's activities.

09:00 a.m. For the more adventurous, we have a morning run along the trails of the estate. Start the year the best way possible and challenge our owner in a race around the property. If cardio activities are not on your wish list, we have a functional workout at your disposal to start the year in shape.

10:00 a.m. – 02:00 p.m. Reset your forces and enjoy “Brunch Malhadinha”. Eggs made live, fresh salads, a wide range of cheeses, puff pastries and cold meats, croissants and homemade cakes, everything you can imagine will be at your disposal to taste and repeat.

02:00 p.m. One of the day highlights has arrived. Replant the vegetable garden that was once abandoned along the “Ribeira de Terges”.
Participate in this experience with our Chef and plant some seasonal vegetables. The possibility of living in the countryside will not be a reality for everyone, but a way to follow the free rhythm of Nature can start with a vase or a small flower bed in your home, we share the ultimate goal of Malhadinha's gastronomy: self-sufficiency. Put your hands on the earth and feel Nature.

04:00 p.m. Workshop on self-sustainable materials. Reuse, recycle, reduce and reuse – the 4 R‘s will serve as inspiration for the most original creations with some Malhadinha materials.
Learn and recreate some inventions later in your home.

08:00 p.m. “From the garden to the table, respecting what nature gives us” – This will be the chef's inspiration for dinner on the first day of the year. Indigenous products, vegetables from our garden and fruits from our orchards, …

08:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Breakfast – Enjoy the Malhadinha landscape while savoring the Chef's goodies, inspired by the gastronomic traditions of the region..

11:00 a.m. “Sericaia”. “Siricaia”. “Sericá”. “Cericá”. D. Constantino de Bragança, who ruled India in the 16th century, brought the recipe for this sweet from the East. It was traditionally baked in tin plates, which are still found in old manor houses. They have now been replaced by earthenware dishes. 01:00 p.m. Enjoy an elegant picnic in the middle of the vineyards. The pleasant view of the vineyards and the Alentejo plain, the gastronomic products from our vegetable garden and the pleasant heat of our fires make the perfect pairing for a country lunch. We have not forgotten the “Cante Alentejano” and that is why the Choir and Ethnographic Group of the “Casa do Povo de Serpa” will accompany this lunch with their traditional songs to the sound of the “campaniça guitar”.

To remember this experience, we would like to offer you a small clay vase by our Master António with an aromatic herb that you can take home with you.

Confirmation of the program is subject to the initial payment of 50% of the program price.
