At Malhadinha Nova, it has been our goal since the beginning to use this dream of ours to show the world the beauty of Alentejo, respecting its traditions and those of who are lucky enough to call it home. On this first day of Christmas experience, we invite you to visit our estate and learn about our history and how everything we have been building for the past 25 years aims to give back to the people, to the land, to our country and to the future generations. More than55 a list of wishes to Santa Claus, the activities of this first day will be an opportunity to reflect on the past year, on everyone we wish to thank and on what we achieved and what we desire for the future.

3pm. Arrival at Malhadinha Nova. Our team will welcome you with some treats from our chefs, inspired in the most traditional Portuguese Christmas flavours: from cheese and charcuterie to codfish cakes and Portuguese Christmas pastries.

5pm. We invite you to visit Malhadinha Nova and learn about our history, in a jeep tour around the estate and all the animals that live here. We hope this history of family, passion and the fulfilling of a life-long dream will inspire you to get into the Christmas spirit!

6pm. While the older members of the group will have the opportunity to taste some special vintages of our organic wines, our guest experience team prepared for the younger ones a creative writing and painting activity, where children will have the opportunity to write their own letters to Santa Claus or create their own personalised t-shirt!

8pm. Get to know Malhadinha Nova’s restaurant, in a thematic dinner inspired by the classic Christmas flavours but recreated by our team of chefs with organic products from our estate and the region.

We dedicate this second day to the most awaited evening of the year: Christmas Eve! We invite you to explore innovative, sustainable and delicious way to prepare your Christmas Eve this year, in a day full of cooking workshops inspired by the dishes served traditionally on this magical night, so you can celebrate it with your loved ones in the best possible way!

8:30 – 11am. Get to know our breakfast with all the colour and flavour of the organic products from our estate and the region, prepared every morning especially for you.

10:30am. Start your day with adventure and join us for an exciting quad bike ride around some of the most exclusive trails of our property.

11:15am. Join our traditional cooking chef Vitalina Santos, and discover how to recreate some of the most delicious Christmas deserts. The younger members of the group will also have the chance to learn how to make Christmas themed cookies!

12:30pm. Before “Christmas Eve” we invite you for a light lunch by the pool or by the fire, with some more flavours from the Alentejo.

3pm. Take some time to relax at our M Wellness Spa and enjoy a calming moment, by yourself or as a couple, through one of our varied range of available treatments.

4:30pm. Prepare your Christmas Eve in a cooking workshop of traditional Christmas dishes for all ages, and discover some innovative ways to adapt your recipes to impress your loved ones this year.

8pm. On this night dedicated to Christmas Eve, we will prepare a magical evening in our wine cellar, with all the flavours of this special night, while listening to an exclusive live music moment to fill your night with joy and emotion.

The importance to show gratitude in form of gifts and gestures is also a part of Christmas’ traditions. On this day, we will give you a few original ideas to surprise your loved ones this Christmas. We will show you our pottery house and the possibility to create unique pieces as well as a treasure hunt so you can take an early Christmas present back home with you!

8:30 – 11am. Enjoy the gifts from nature in another breakfast prepared with fresh fruit and vegetables from our land and the region so you can start your day in the best possible way.

11am. Although we don’t have camels in the Alentejo like the Wisemen did, we invite you to join us for an horse back riding activity around the vineyards, breathing the fresh morning air.

11:30am. Join us for a treasure hunt full of surprises hidden around the estate, that you can either take home as a gift for yourself or gift it to your friends and family this Christmas.

12:30pm. We will prepare a picnic lunch inspired by gold, frankinsence and myrrh. We promise a cosy afternoon in the middle of our vineyards.

3pm. Get to know Malhadinha Nova’s pottery house and discover that the most beautiful presents are those made with care and intention. Create beautiful clay pieces to gift your loved ones this Christmas, a unique present with a lot of meaning.

4:30pm. For the more active ones, we will give you the opportunity to test your skills in an exciting archery workshop.

8pm. On the last evening of this Christmas experience, we will take inspiration from eastern gastronomy, where the three wisemen were coming from, and offer you a special menu created by our team of executive chefs that promises to surprise!

We believe that the principles and values of Christmas should not be remembered only one night a year, but something we should take with us every single day of our lives. Because Christmas is, for us at Malhadinha Nova, more than anything, to give and share with others, and knowing that this is a year where Christmas won’t be as happy for many people around the world, we invite you to prepare a little box with a gift from our estate or some essential goods which we will have available, to send to a child or a family suffering from the consequences of conflicts around the world. Our team will be in charge of sending it to help a humanitarian aid association of your choice. We also give you the option to donate the value of your third night to help a humanitarian aid association of your choice.

8:30 – 11am. Enjoy one more breakfast at Malhadinha Nova, with all the colour and flavour of the fruit and vegetables from our estate, with warm traditional bread and pastries, and cheese and charcuterie from the Alentejo.

10:30am. In order to take the Christmas spirit to those who need it the most this year, we invite you to prepare a gift box with essential goods and small presents, that the Malhadinha Nova team will take care of sending to a humanitarian aid association of your choice.
